Day #9 of the Med cruise, 6th port stop.
Today's port stop was in Ajaccio, Corsica, technically a region of France--the birthplace of Napoleon. This day was pretty rainy and overcast. All we did in this port was find Napoleon's house where he was born (and museum), took Tyler back to the ship, and I went out with a friend and found an internet cafe....not that it did much good because all my sites (msn, and hotmail) were all blocked. :(
All of the shots below were either in Napoleon's house or the walk to and from the ship. Everything was pretty close by and an easy walking distance which I love ports to be since it saves alot of money. :)
I caught this museum right before they were closing for their afternoon siesta, so they were following along behind us so we couldn't backtrack or dawdle. Because I knew the visit would be hurried and didn't pay money to get the automated recordings of what things were, so I really had no clue what I was looking at.
Above: This was a pretty ornate needlework of the family tree.
Above: Napoleon's death mask (a plaster taken right after death). I know it's a little macabre, but I find it interesting to get a better idea of what they really look like. They also have copies of these in Paris where Napoleon is buried as well.
Is this an outhouse? Don't know what else it could be.....

Leaving Ajaccio.
